I use it on all my blogs to some degree and it is by far the best money maker for me or I wouldn’t be sat here today. So to answer the simple question, how do I make money blogging? Google Adsense.

Google Adsense, in brief, simply displays ads either of text based links, or image/video links on your blog. The ads are chosen specifically to match the topic on your blogs current page, which means in simple terms, they are relevant to the contents of your blog. You make your money then by your visitor clicking the advertising links. Every time they click the link, you earn a small amount from Google, hence the term Pay Per Click advertising. Once you have built up a following on your blog, you can just sit back and watch the money roll in.

There are a few other good advertising sites similar to Google Adsense with the same Pay Per Click advertising such as Clickbank, but in my professional opinion Adsense is the better and more popular. However, that is to say that both of these and others can work just as good or even together on the same blog. Using more than one has worked for me on some of my other blogs quite well.

Keep in mind, if your blog is about fishing, I don’t think this avenue will go very far if you’re trying to sell door handles to your visitors. Selling private advertising space is another option, whether it be in the form of an advert or Jobs Vacant board. This type of advertising can sometimes be very profitable, maybe not as profitable as the fore mentioned, but it all comes down to the type of blog you run. I have never gone for such advertising as it is a lot of work just to set up and run. A work orientated blog may be suited to having a jobs board, where as a beauty blog could be suited to selling make-up or shampoos etc. It’s all about knowing your target audience.
